What are the conditions for transporting surfboards, bicycles, golf equipment, diving gear and sports weapons?

Surfboards, windsurf boards and other sailing equipment.

You must pack or store your equipment in its cover, ensuring it is labelled and protected. It must not exceed 1.9 metres in length; if it is larger, it cannot be transported.

Bicycles

If you are not transporting your bicycle in a box, you must:

  • Remove the pedals.
  • Turn the handlebars so that they do not protrude.
  • Secure the wheels and partially deflate the tyres.

Golf equipment

Golf clubs must be securely fastened inside the bag to prevent inconvenience or damage during loading, transport and unloading.

Diving equipment

  • The cylinder must be empty (depressurised) and accompanied by a certificate from an authorised company confirming that it has been emptied. The valve must be removed to compensate for pressure differences.
  • The diving torch may be carried in your hand luggage or checked-in luggage, but the power source must be disconnected and protected against short circuits. You can do this using the original packaging or by insulating the terminals with adhesive tape or a protective sleeve.

Sporting firearms and ammunition

  • You must request transport at least 48 hours in advance via the Call Centre or at the Canaryfly offices at the airport.
  • The firearm must be unloaded and authorised by the airport’s Firearms Control Service.
  • Ammunition must:
    • Be in secure boxes and not exceed 5 kg gross weight.
    • Be kept separate from the firearm.
    • Not contain explosive or incendiary projectiles.
    • Belong exclusively to Division 1.4S with UN numbers 0012 or 0014.
    • Permitted quantities for more than one person must not be combined into one or more items of luggage.
  • The firearm and ammunition must be checked in.
